Microblogging site Twitter announced on Thursday that as the Twitterati wished they can, in fact, have the edit button under one condition that in return the entire world will put on a mask. “You can have an edit button when everyone wears a mask,” Twitter announced.
The platform reiterated its point by adding “Everyone means EVERYONE,” in a separate tweet.
Twitter has long refused to do so, despite repeated requests from users to add edit feature.
Most Twitter users responded to the teasing announcement with different reactions. Some intentionally-misspelled tweets to underline the pressing need for an edit button, while some urged others to wear a mask.
Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said earlier this year that the company would “probably never” add the edit feature as it may lead to users spreading misinformation in the platform.
