Trump’s ‘filthy India’ remarks irk Biden, says he values friendship

NIRMAL YESODA

Recently President of the United States Donald Trump lashed out at India, China, and Russia for not implementing effective strategies to combat the negative effects of climate change. During one of his debate, Trump claimed that countries like India, China, and Russia, have filthy air, and added that these countries are spewing harmful stuff into the air.

And now, Joe Biden has criticized Donald Trump’s remarks. Biden revealed that he and his running mate Kamala Harris are people who deeply value the partnership with India.

“President Trump called India ‘filthy’. It’s not how you talk about friends and it’s not how you solve global challenges like climate change. The Obama-Biden years were some of the best we’ve ever had between our two countries. A Biden-Harris administration will build on that great progress and do even more. We can and should be natural allies,” said Biden.

Biden also added that he will work with India to fight against terrorism, if he gets elected as the president of the United States.

In the meantime, the coronavirus cases in the United States are witnessing a drastic rise over the past few weeks. As the pandemic is spreading like wildfire, Biden claimed that Americans are learning to die with coronavirus, due to the lack of preventive measures adopted by the Donald Trump administration. Biden warned the public that a dark winter is ahead for the country, as the pandemic is showing no signs of slowing down.
