Trump says a face mask makes him look like the ‘Lone Ranger’

Web Desk

US President Donald Trump who has avoided wearing masks in public throughout the coronavirus pandemic now claims he is “all for masks” and they make him look like the Lone Ranger. He says he doesn’t have anything against wearing masks to curb COVID-19’s spread.

“I’m all for masks,” Mr. Trump said, “I think masks are good.”

“I sort of liked the way it looked,” he said. “It was a dark black mask, and I thought it looked OK. It looked like the Lone Ranger.”

Mr Trump also said that face coverings should not be made compulsory to fight Covid-19 because there are “many places in the country where people stay very long distance”.

Trump insisted his hesitation toward wearing a mask had nothing to do with any style concerns.

Meanwhile, Twitterati trolled him for making such comments. One user pointed out that a face mask which was worn to prevent the spread of the coronavirus covers one’s mouth and nose, while the Lone Ranger’s mask covered his upper face.
