Thousands perform first Friday prayers of Ramadan in Oman

MUSCAT: Thousands of worshippers have taken part in the first Friday prayers of Ramadan across the country.

Friday prayers are considered the most important of the week by Muslims, and take on even greater significance for many during the holy month.
Large crowds gathered at mosques all over the Muscat on Friday. Ramadan, commenced in Oman on March 1, signifying a period of fasting, prayer, and introspection for Muslims worldwide.
