The fruitful deployment of people to work

From my own experience as an employer I have had three problems when I employ people.

There are some who are very strong on numerical sense. By numerical sense I mean the ability to recognise a number, to measure by number then compare and contrast using the number relationship. People with number sense are very important because they know how to measure and express their thoughts in numbers, which gives a clear idea of a measured meaning of what they are saying. Meanwhile, there are other sets of people who do not have a number sense but they have a strong spatial sense. By spatial I mean sense of a figure, sense of an event, and sense of a picture.

Such people are also important because they are good presenters, they can speak a lot about descriptive things, and they can be good in refining processes. But such people, most of the time, are weak in numerical ways of presenting things. These people without a number sense, whenever you ask for a result, they say very good, outstanding, and bad.Indicative English words are used rather than measured words. So, such people can be entrusted with works of descriptive nature.

What the world needs today are critical thinkers and problem solvers.Both these skills should be well-balanced – numerical skill to measure, compare, and contrast; and the spatial skills to do picturistic understanding and comparisons. A combination of these two, which is very rare to find in a single person,constitute the most successful people in any company. Their left brain and right brain should be equally good to measure in a mindful picture mode the strengths and weaknesses. But, why do not we have lot of people in this category? I would like to relate this problem to the classroom. It is in the classroom where teaching and the curriculum attainment should enable children to focus on both. They should be able to extend their focus on numerical sense and spatial sense.

They have to enlarge the skills in both sectors and then blend them into one to take the right conclusions. As both numerical and spatial skills are a necessity, when children learn they should be made aware about the type of skills they are learning, how to apply it, how to mix and match their skills in such a way so that their work, their result and their presentation are the best.
