The tools that came into questions were Tasks and Centra. They are used to coordinate censorship wit Twitter and Google and monitor Facebook user activity across the internet, respectively.

Republican Senator Josh Hawley on Twitter wrote, “”Zuckerberg admits @Facebook DOES have ‘tools’ to track its users across the internet, across platforms, across accounts – all without user knowledge. I ask how many times this tool has been used domestically against Americans. Zuck won’t say.” He then attached a screenshot of the internal tool.

Zuckerberg, however, did not confirm “whether Facebook ever uses Centra to track and monitor American citizens.” Hawley further noted, “Mark Zuckerberg under oath to me today: I don’t know, I can’t recall, I don’t remember, I’ll follow up later, let me get back to you.”

According to the whistleblower that Hawley mentioned, the tool Centra is used to track user behaviour across the internet without their knowledge. It tracks different profiles that a user visits, their message recipients, their linked accounts, the pages they visit around the web that have Facebook buttons.

Senator Hawley also spoke about internal platform tasks that Facebook uses for co-ordinated content moderation with other companies. However Zuckerberg denied the claim.

Zuckerberg said that there were coordination and sharing signals on security-related topics about terrorism, images of child exploitation and foreign election inference.

Now Joe Biden is leading in Nevada by around 7,600 votes . He has 49.3 percent of the voter share and Trump is right behind him with 48.7 percent. This is a close race and a must win for Biden’s to win the presidency.

The tables were turned when Biden has won the battleground states of Wisconsin and Michigan, which have taken him closer to the winning mark of 270 electoral votes. Donald Trump’s victory in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania in 2016 had ensured his entry into the White House.

Joe Biden has won more overall votes than any presidential candidates in US history, overtaking the record set by Barack Obama in 2008.

The Trump campaign, whose path to victory was narrowing dramatically, said that it would seek a recount in Wisconsin and then announced that it had legal action seeking to halt the vote count in Michigan. They are also consider taking legal action in Arizona and Nevada as votes are still being counted.

Presdient Donald Tump declared he would ask the Supreme Court to intervene in the 2020 election. As far as he was concerned, he said, he had already won: “So we’ll be going to the Supreme Court. We want all voting to stop.”

The high stake election was held against the backdrop of a unprecedented pandemic that has killed more than 2,30,000 Americans and wiped away millions of jobs.

Zohran Mamdani, a Democratic Socialist and a rapper ran unopposed to represent New York’s 36th Assembly District in Astoria( a neighbourhood in Queens).

Mamdani tweeted the news of his victory and wrote: “ It’s official: we won. I’m going to Albany to fight to tax the rich, heal the sick, house the poor and build a socialist New York. But I can’t do it alone. To win socialism, we’ll need a mass movement of the multiracial working class as well. So let’s build one. Join @nycDSA.”

Zohram Mamdani was born and raised in Kampala, Uganda, and grew up in New York City after his family moved there when he was seven years old. He graduated from Bowdoin College.

He currently works as a housing counsellor, and aids immigrant families facing eviction retain their homes.

Mamadani decided to enter into politics in October 2019, after a friend and a fellow member of the local unit of Democratic Socialist of America (DSA) suggested it and defeated incumbent Aravella Simotas by 346 votes in the Democratic primary.

Immigration is high on Mamdani’s list of issues that he would like to tackle as an elected representative. His primary goals also include guaranteeing housing and healthcare for all. Most importantly he also wants to defund the NYPD and aims to bring change to ‘the racist police system as a means of control over black and brown New Yorkers.

Many had advised Mamdani against highlighting his desi roots when began his campaign last year.

But the young politician chose otherwise and put a twist to the popular Democratic socialist slogan ‘bread and roses’ and went with ‘roti and roses’ instead.

Christian Association and Alliance for Social, (CASA) , a Kerala-based body, has put up a hoarding in support of Trump at one of the busiest part of Kochi in Ernakulam.

The prominent placing of the hoarding at the heart of the city is piquing curiosity of many along with abuses and threats.

The hoarding titled ‘President Donald Trump and vice president Mike Pence staunch supporters of India’, says that “the whole world benefitted by your actions against terrorism. You have made Arabs and Israelis friends. Make America great again. We wish you a thumping victory.

According to CASA, there are several reasons why they support Trump. Some of the reasons are that there was no war during the regime of Trump, took stern actions against terrorism, handling of China and his relationship with North Korea.

The Christian body is appealing to all Malayalis with US citizenship to support Trump in the elections. They are also carrying out campaigns through social media.

CASA, which was formed a couple of years back to fight against social issues.

The United States Presidential election is all set to happen on November 3. Donald Trump was specifically trying to woo Indian Americans voters during the election campaign. While the data show that Indian American mostly vote Democrat, the Republican party is trying to target voters who are likely to switch loyalties based on Prime Minister Narendra Modi- Trump camaradiere.
