It was around a few days back that Indrajit Lokesh, a Sandalwood director opened up about the drug usage in the entertainment industry. Following the revelations of Lokesh, Bengaluru Central Crime Branch (CCB) triggered an investigation, and they soon arrested Anoop Mohammed, a Kerala resident.

Yesterday, CCB arrested Ravishankar, a friend of Sandalwood actress Ragini Dwivedi. Today morning, investigation officers raided Ragini Dwivedi’s residence in Yelehanka, and they took the actress to the CCB headquarters for further interrogation.

As the CCB is intensifying their efforts to curb the drug rackets in Bengaluru, more arrests are expected in the coming hours. According to the latest updates, the investigation officers are apparently planning to question more Sandalwood celebrities.

Earlier, Indrajit Lokesh who is also a prominent journalist had revealed that at least 15 people in Sandalwood are directly involved in the drug racket. However, he made it clear that no big names are involved in this racket, as they are very much concerned about their public image.

In the meantime, PK Firoz, Youth league leader in Kerala has claimed that Bineesh Kodiyeri, son of CPI(M) secretary is having illicit links with Anoop Mohammed, the prime accused in the drug case. However, Bineesh revealed that he has no connections with the drug racket. But Bineesh made it clear that Anoop was his friend, and has helped him financially once.

“Some actresses do consume drugs at the parties. I am aware that they consume the banned substances inside the vanity vans on the sets. It’s true that there is a link between Sandalwood and the drug mafia. I’ve heard that some budding artistes and those wanting to hog limelight within no time consume drugs at rave parties,” said Lankesh.

As the revelations made by Lankesh have now gone viral, the Central Crime Branch has issued a notice on him and has asked him to disclose further details regarding the operation of drug mafia in the industry.

Indrajit Lankesh who is also a noted journalist revealed that he is ready to pass all the information he knows to the police. However, he urged the government to ensure his security, so that he can divulge all the details without any hesitation.

Lankesh also made it clear that no big stars in Sandalwood are involved in drug usage, as they are well bothered about their image. The director also urged the police to conduct a thorough investigation to curb the clandestine clutches of drug mafia in Sandalwood.

“Why was the autopsy not conducted after the death of an actor recently? A car was involved in an accident some years ago at South End Circle in Bengaluru. It was reported that drugs were recovered from inside the car and there were some artistes inside. What is the status of the case? Why did the police not conduct a thorough investigation? Why did the police not initiate action against those inside the car,” added Lankesh.

He also requested police officers to determine whether any politicians are also involved in the drug racket.

CCB joint commissioner of police Sandeep Patil revealed that Indrajit Lankesh will record his statement on Monday. He also added that inputs from people like Lankesh are quite crucial to demolish drug mafia.

According to reports, director Om Raut has apparently narrated the script of the movie to Keerthy Suresh, and the actress expressed her excitement to the filmmaker. Even though an official announcement is yet to be made, close sources to Keerthy revealed that the actress has given a positive nod to Raut.

As Keerthy Suresh has been approached to play the role of the female lead in this movie, she will be most probably enacting the role of Sita, Lord Rama’s wife.

In order to make Adipurush a Pan-Indian movie, the makers are planning to rope in several major stars from industries like Mollywood, Kollywood, and Sandalwood. If everything goes well, an official announcement regarding the complete cast and crew will be made by the end of this year.

Adipurush is bankrolled by Bhushan Kumar, CMD of T-Series. The film is expected to be the adaptation of an Indian epic that revolves around the glorious triumph of good over evil.

Adipurush will be a multi-lingual movie, and it will be released in several languages that include, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. According to reports, the makers are also planning to release this film in some foreign languages.
