The project started rolling on the auspicious occasion of ‘Makara Vilakku’ on January 15. Suresh Gopi himself revealed the exciting update, by sharing a picture with director Mathew Thomas and producer Tomichan Mulkapadam, on his official social media pages.

Tomichan Mulakupadam, the producer of the project took to his Facebook page and wrote: “On this occasion when theaters are open and the Industry gets its breath back, I am happy to announce that my new project ‘Ottakkomban’ starring superstar Suresh Gopi is all set to begin. By God’s grace, the film will start rolling soon.”

The highly anticipated project is being made with a whopping budget of Rs 50 crores.

The highly anticipated project will also feature Mukesh, KPAC Lalitha, Vijayaraghavan, Renji Panicker, Johny Antony, Sudhi Koppa in the supporting roles. Shaji Kumar is the director of photography. Harshvardhan Rameshwar has been roped in to compose the songs and background score. The project, which marks the directorial debut of Mathew Thomas, is scripted by Anil Lal.

The first look motion poster of Ottakomban was released on Suresh Gopi’s birthday , titled SG250, which gave hints about the mass avatar of the actor and a total treat for the fans.

Asianet has already started showing promos regarding the online streaming of the movie that could happen soon. The film was supposed to hit the screens before the coronavirus outbreak, but it was delayed due to multiple reasons.

The film is directed by Jeo Baby, who has previously helmed 2 Penkuttikal. The director himself has written the script of the movie along with Deepu Pradeep. In a previous interview, Tovino Thomas had revealed that this movie will be an in and out commercial entertainer which can boast of strong content.

In the film, Tovino will be seen playing the role of Josemon, a tourist guide who serves an American traveler named Cathy. The film will portray the journey of Joseman and Cathy, and the way in which this trip changes the perception of Joseman towards life.

Apart from Tovino Thomas, Kilometers and Kilometers also stars India Jarvis (Cathy), Joju George, Sidharth Siva, Basil Joseph, Vijay Fort, and Ramesh Pisharody in other prominent roles.

Sinu Sidharth has cranked the cinematography of this film, while Sushin Shyam has composed the background score. An official announcement regarding the OTT premiere date of this flick will be made in the coming hours.

Othalanga Thuruthu, a comedy web series by Kollam native Ambuji BCM, has amassed quite a number of social media following, for its fine production and subtle humour. It is a fictional island and depicts characters like Nathu, Pappan and Uthaman, who live life on their own terms. They aren’t particularly working towards anything in life, taking each day as it comes.

When the majority of the web series coming in You Tube channel is mostly based on stories narrated for an urban audience, Othalanga.. decided to keep its rural roots.

The web series is being shot at Aayiram Thengu in Kollam and the picturesque frames is the asset of Kiran Nuptial.

The distinctive feature of the series is that the episodes have no continuity. Each episode narrates a new story. According to the director there is no continuity in life likewise the series.

Starring Abin Bino, Jayesh Janardhan and Jagadeesh Kumar, Othalanga Thuruthu is produced by Ambuji’s uncle Kuttans Pramod. It is available for streaming on YouTube.

‘Kappela’ is directed by actor-turned-filmmaker Muhammed Mustafa. He has also scripted the film jointly with Nikhil Vahid and Sudhas. Anna Ben, Sreenath Bhasi and Roshan Mathew play the lead roles.

It is the story of a young woman from a rural background who gets trapped in a particular situation. Basically, the film tries to tell how human perceptions can go awfully wrong. The relevant issue discussed in the film coupled with a suspense-filled screenplay ensures that the film can be remade in any language with some tweaking to make it appealing to the native audience.

Malayalam-Tamil actor Shamna Kasim, also known as Poorna, was in the news after she made a complaint against a gang of impostors who attempted to extort money from her and her family. On June 30, she issued a statement on social media, to clarify certain rumours and requested the media to give her and her family some privacy.

Shamna, in her statement, revealed that she has come across a few reports which suggested that she knew the culprits personally.

Thanking fans for their support, she wrote, “Thank you for the wonderful support my dear friends and well-wishers during this ordeal. I just would like to clarify on few unreal reports in few media relating my case. I do not know the culprit and gang who are part of this blackmailing saga hence I am pleading to all my media friends not to propagate such fake news linking me with the culprit (sic).”

She requested everyone to give her and her family privacy until the police are done with the investigation. Shamna said that she’ll hold a press meet after the case is closed.

Shamna Kasim wrapped up her statement stating that women should learn a lesson from her story in fighting the fraudsters.
