Now, veteran actress Urmila Matondkar has come forward and has lashed out at Kangana for making derogatory comments against the entire industry. Urmila also urged Kangana to start her fight against drugs from her Himachal Pradesh, her home state.

“The entire country is facing the menace of drugs. Does she (Kangana) know Himachal is the origin of drugs? She should start from her own state,” Urmila told Mumbai Tak, India Today’s Marathi web channel.

Urmila argued that Kangana should have informed the police about the drug usage earlier if she was totally concerned about it. The actress also lashed out at Kangana for availing Y-category security and claimed that the taxpayer’s money is being misused for a person who is not belligerent enough to give information about the drug nexus to the police. Urmila also added that the comments made by Kangana were actually an insult to every people living in Mumbai.

“Why did this person who has been given Y-security from the taxpayers’ money didn’t give information about the drug nexus to the police? Whoever has loved the city and has given back to the city, it belongs to them As a daughter of the city, I will never tolerate any defamatory remark against it. When you make such comments you are not only insulting the city but people of the state at large,” added Kangana.

It was for this remark Jaya Bachchan charged that the film industry was being defamed and slammed those from the entertainment industry indulging in it, saying they are biting the hands that feed them.

She also said that she completely disagrees with those who called the entertainment industry a “gutter”.

Through a Zero Hour mention in Rajya Sabha, Bachchan said the entertainment industry was being flogged by social media and asked the government to protect and support it.

Jaya Bachchan said the entertainment industry in the country provides direct employment to 5 lakh people daily and indirect employment to 5 million people.

Ravi Kishan, a popular actor of Bhojpuri and Hindi films, and a BJP MP from Uttar Pradesh, raised in parliament the drugs-related allegations that have emerged against the film industry in the Sushant Singh Rajput investigations. He alleged a “conspiracy” by Pakistan and China to destroy the country’s younger citizens.

Responding to Ms. Bachchan’s remark, Ravi Kishan said that he expected her support. He said that he didn’t mean to say the whole industry is marred with drugs but those who do are trying to destroy the world’s largest film industry.

The Narcotics Control Bureau is investigating charges of drug-dealing and use based on chats found on the phone of Rhea Chakraborty, a 28-year-old actor being investigated over the death of her boyfriend, popular star Sushant Singh Rajput, on June 14.

And now, Kangana has revealed that it is not her duty alone to make Bollywood drug-free. According to Kangana, the campaign against drug usage should be a collective effort, and it should emerge as a public movement to make the nation drug-free.

“Is it my duty alone to clean Bullywood drug racket? Or is it our collective responsibility to make it a public movement to make this nation drugs free and save a large percentage of our youth succumbing to this evil, I risked my life and reached out, aap bhi toh kuch karo na,” said Kangaga.

Earlier, Kangana had also pointed out names like Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor and Ayan Mukherji, and had claimed that these celebrities are rumoured as cocaine addicts in the industry. She also urged these celebrities to undergo a drug test, so that they can save their image.

“I request Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, Ayan Mukerji, Vicky Kaushik to give their blood samples for a drug test, there are rumors that they are cocaine addicts, I want them to bust these rumors, these young men can inspire millions if they present clean samples,” wrote Kangana on her Twitter page.

In the tweet, Kangana also tagged the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and urged authorities to take action against drug abusers in Bollywood. The actress also revealed that she is ready to help the narcotics bureau to demolish the drug racket in the industry if the Central Government is ready to give her protection.
