										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Kerala&#8217;s COVID-19 case count reached 4,80,669 on November 7, with the state reporting 7,201 fresh cases. The state also registered 7,120 recoveries since Friday. In the last 24 hours, 64,051 samples have been tested. The test positivity rate is 11.24%.</p>
<p>So far, 3,95,624 people recovered from the disease, while 83,261 patients are still under treatment in various hospitals across the state, Health Minister K K Shailaja said in a statement.</p>
<p>Out of the new patients 96 returned from other states.</p>
<p>Local transmission of COVID-19 continues to climb as 6,316 of the newly reported cases contracted the virus through contact. Of this, the infection sources of 728 are unknown.</p>
<p>Apart from this, 61 healthcare workers (Ernakulam – 19, Kozhikode – 8, Thrissur – 7, Malappuram – 6, Kannur – 5, Thiruvananthapuram and Pathanamthitta – 4 each, Kasaragod – 3, Alappuzha – 2, Kollam, Idukki and Palakkad – 1 each) also contracted the virus.</p>
<p>The minister also confirmed 28 more deaths taking the official death toll to 1,668.</p>
<p>The district-wise statistics of positive cases are: Ernakulam – 1042, Kozhikode – 971, Thrissur – 864, Thiruvananthapuram – 719, Alappuzha – 696, Malappuram – 642, Kollam – 574, Kottayam – 500,<br />

<p>Fourteen new Covid hotspots were identified in the state on Saturday while 38 regions were removed from the list. There are a total of 612 hotspots in the state.</p>

<p>So far, 3,55,943 people recovered from the disease, while 86,681 patients are still under treatment, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said.</p>
<p>Twenty one more deaths were confirmed on this day, taking the total toll to 1,533.</p>
<p>Local transmission of COVID-19 is still on the rise as 3,599 of the newly reported cases contracted the virus through contact. Of this the infection source of 438 are unknown.</p>
<p>Apart from this, 47 healthcare workers also contracted the virus.</p>
<p>A total of 33,345 samples were tested in the past 24 hours. In total 47,28,404 samples were sent for testing.</p>
<p>Despite the surge in cases, Kerala&#8217;s case fatality rate is 0.34%.</p>
<p>The district wise-break up of positive cases are Kozhikode – 576, Ernakulam – 518, Alappuzha – 498, Malappuram – 467, Thrissur – 433, Thiruvananthapuram – 361 , Kollam – 350, Palakkad – 286 Kottayam – 246,Kannur – 195,Idukki- 60, Kasaragod- 58, Wayanad- 46, Pathanamthitta-44.</p>
<p>The numbers for the locally transmitted cases from the districts are Kozhikode 541, Ernakulam 407, Alappuzha 482, Malappuram 440, Thrissur 420, Thiruvananthapuram 281, Kollam 339, Palakkad 133, Kottayam 244, Kannur 135, Idukki 53, Kasargod 54, Wayanad 42 and Pathanamthitta 28.</p>
<p>The count of the infected healthcare workers from the districts are Kannur 9, Ernakulam &amp; Kozhikode 8 each, Thiruvananthapuram 7, Thrissur 5, Pathanamthitta 4, Kollam 3, Kasaragod 2 and Malappuram 1.<br />

The district-wise numbers of the patients who tested negative today are Thiruvananthapuram 507, Kollam 553, Pathanamthitta 228, Alappuzha 793, Kottayam 334, Idukki 78, Ernakulam 1,093, Thrissur 967, Palakkad 463, Malappuram 945, Kozhikode 839, Wayanad 72, Kannur 93 and Kasaragod 143. Till now,  3,55,943 people have been cured of Covid in Kerala.<br />

There are currently 2,93,221 people totally under observation in various districts of the state &#8211; 2,71,744 in isolation at their homes or institutional quarantine centres and 21,477 in hospitals. 2,437 persons were admitted to the hospitals today.</p>
<p>Five new places in Palakkad, Alappuzha and Ernakulam districts were declared as hotspots today even as 19 areas were excluded. At present, there are 657 hotspots in Kerala.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Kerala reported 6,638 new coronavirus positive cases after 53,981 tests on October 30. The state also registered 7,828 recoveries in the last 24 hours, the Health department informed in a press statement.</p>
<p>With 28 deaths being reported on this day, the state’s death toll has risen to 1457.</p>
<p>Of the new cases , 5,789 contracted the disease through contact. The source of infection of 700 among them is unknown. As many as 85 infected persons came from outside the state.</p>
<p>So far, the state reported 4,25,122 active cases, out of which 3,32,994 were cured. The remaining 92,128 patients are undergoing treatment. As many as 2,88,635 are under observation. Among them, 2,66,953 are in home/institutional quarantine while 21,682 are in hospitals. 2,621 were admitted to hospitals on October 30.</p>
<p>For the first time, Kerala replaced Maharashtra as the state with highest number of fresh cases over the past 10 days.</p>
<p>The district-wise statistics of positive cases are: Thrissur &#8211; 1096, Malappuram &#8211; 761, Kozhikode &#8211; 722, Ernakulam &#8211; 674, Alappuzha – 664, Thiruvananthapuram &#8211; 587, Kollam &#8211; 482, Palakkad &#8211; 482, Kottayam &#8211; 367, Kannur &#8211; 341, Pathanamthitta – 163, Kasaragod – 133, Wayanad – 90 and Idukki – 76.</p>
<p>The district-wise statistics of contact cases are: Thrissur &#8211; 1080, Malappuram &#8211; 723, Kozhikode &#8211; 698, Ernakulam &#8211; 457, Alappuzha – 629, Thiruvananthapuram &#8211; 460, Kollam &#8211; 474, Palakkad &#8211; 258, Kottayam &#8211; 360, Kannur &#8211; 251, Pathanamthitta – 131, Kasaragod – 129, Wayanad – 84 and Idukki – 55.</p>
<p>So far, 45,85,050 samples, including those collected from priority groups as part of sentinel surveillance, were sent for testing.</p>
<p>Six new covid hotspots were identified in the state on Friday while 10 regions were removed from the list. There are a total of 690 hotspots in the state.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said that 5,022 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Kerala today. Of these, 4,257 people were infected through contact and the infection source for 647 was unknown. There are 59 healthcare workers among those infected. At the same time, 7,469 patients have recovered today from Coronavirus infection.</p>
<p>Twenty-one deaths were confirmed on the day taking the COVID related death toll in the State to 1,182. The deceased are Ramabhai (54), Indira Devi (66) and Snehalatha Devi (53) from Thiruvananthapuram district, Rahmat (64) and Sivaprasad (70) from Kollam district; Khadeeja (74), Lakshmi (77), Prakashan (75), C S Benny (53) and P.S. Hamsa (86) from Ernakulam district; Omana (63), Kadar Khaji (86) and Abdul Khader (67) from Thrissur district, Aishakutty (72) and Mariumma (55) from Malappuram district, Aboobacker (65), Yaseer Arafat (35), Ramakrishnan (73) and Shyamala (73) from Kozhikode district, Claramma Joy (63) from Kannur district, and T.K. Soman (63) from Kasaragod district.</p>
<p>The district-wise figures for the new positive cases were Malappuram 910, Kozhikode 772, Ernakulam 598, Thrissur 533, Thiruvananthapuram 516, Kollam 378, Alappuzha 340, Kannur 293, Palakkad 271, Kottayam 180, Kasargod 120, Wayanad 51, Pathanamthitta 32 and Idukki 28. Of those diagnosed, 59 have travelled to Kerala from outside the State.</p>
<p>The count of the locally transmitted cases from the districts were Malappuram 862, Kozhikode 669, Ernakulam 398, Thrissur 518, Thiruvananthapuram 357, Kollam 373, Alappuzha 333, Kannur 279, Palakkad 121, Kottayam 155, Kasargod 101, Wayanad 50, Pathanamthitta 30 and Idukki 11.</p>
<p>The number of infected healthcare workers from the districts was Kozhikode 14, Thiruvananthapuram 12, Thrissur &amp; Malappuram 8 each, Kasaragod 6, Ernakulam 4, Kannur 3, Kottayam 2, and Kollam &amp; Wayanad 1 each.</p>
<p>The district-wise tally of patients who tested negative on the day were Thiruvananthapuram 1,670, Kollam 627, Pathanamthitta 182, Alappuzha 338, Kottayam 200, Idukki 53, Ernakulam 978, Thrissur 1,261, Palakkad 347, Malappuram 298, Kozhikode 1,022, Wayanad 128, Kannur 72 and Kasaragod 293.</p>
<p>So far 2,52,868 people have recovered from COVID in the State and at present, there are 92,731 patients still undergoing treatment in various districts.</p>
<p>There are a total of 2,77,291 persons under observation across the State, 2,53,482 under home or institutional quarantine and 23,809 in isolation at hospitals. 2,395 people were admitted to the hospitals on the day. A total of 36,599 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. Till now, 39,75,798 samples have been sent for testing in total.</p>
<p>There are 636 hotspots in Kerala now as six were declared as hotspots while seven areas were excluded.</p>

It is the fourth consecutive day that the state is reporting more than 4000 cases. 2,751 recoveries were also reported in the state, said Health Minister K.K Shailaja in a press release.</p>
<p>Of the new cases, 4,425 have contracted the virus through contact. The infection source of 459 persons remains unknown.</p>
<p>Thiruvananthapuram district topped the list again with 892 cases while Malappuram has 483 cases, 330 from Kollam, 536 from Kozhikode and 537 cases in Ernakulam.</p>
<p>The break-up  of today’s cases in other districts are: 322 from Thrissur, 289 from Palakkad, 274 from Kottayam, 242 from Kannur, 219 from Alappuzha, 208 from Kasragod, 190 from Pathnamthitta, 97 from Wayanad, 77 from Idukki.</p>
<p>Sixteen deaths were also confirmed in the state taking the death toll to 535. Eighty health workers also confirmed of COVID-19.</p>

<p>Out of the new cases, 49 have come abroad while 153 came from other states. 3,562 contracted the disease through contact. The contact source of 350 is not known.</p>
<p>Sixty-six healthcare workers were also infected through contact.</p>
<p>The numbers of those infected through contact from the districts are Thiruvananthapuram 642, Kozhikode 455, Ernakulam 301, Alappuzha 297, Kollam 285, Malappuram 281, Thrissur 254, Kannur 215, Palakkad 202, Kottayam 186, Pathanamthitta 184, Kasaragod 112, Wayanad 92 and Idukki 56.</p>
<p>The district-wise statistics of positive cases are: 675  from Thiruvananthapuram , 300 from Kollam, 236 from Pathnamthitta, 323 from Alappuzha, 187 from Kottayam, 76  from Idukki, 319 from Ernakulam, 263 from Thrissur, 220 from Palakkad, 298 from Malappuram, 468 from Kozhikode, 99 from Wayanad, 247 from Kannur and 119 from Kasaragod.</p>

As on September 16, a total of 2,11,037 persons are under observation across the state, 1,87,958 under home or institutional quarantine and 23,079 in hospitals. 2,987 people were admitted to the hospitals today.<br />

46,162 samples were tested during the last 24 hours. So far, a total of 22,451.39 samples have been sent for testing, including 1,91,931 samples from high-risk groups as part of Sentinel Surveillance.<br />

15 places were declared as hotspots today even as 22 were exempted from the list. At present, there are 610 hotspots in Kerala.</p>
