September 21, will officially be the last day of summer in the United Arab Emirates, said Ibrahim Al Jarwan, a member of the Arab Union for Astronomy and Space Sciences, on September 20.
Al Jarwan said autumn will begin on September 22, 2020, at 5.31pm in the UAE.
He explained that the sun will be directly over the equator, and will start moving towards the southern hemisphere. Day and night will be of equal length that day, and thereafter days will get shorter and nights longer. The day and night will then be of equal length again on March 20, 2021.
The temperatures will also gradually decrease as it is the end of the season. Some parts of the country like internal areas in Dubai and parts of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain have been experiencing rain.
According to a National Center of Meteorology (NCM) representative, rain and cloud formation are generally observed over eastern regions of the country during this time of the year, but due to instability in the weather, western areas have also been affected.
