NIRMAL YESODA
Bollywood actor Sonu Sood was a part of Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. However, the actor left the movie midway, and he was replaced by Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub. And now, the actor has come forward and opened up on why he left the film, amid completing major portions of the filming.
It should be noted that Radha Krishna Jagalarmudi had directed Manikarnika: Queen of Jhansi in the initial days. Later, Kangana took over the director’s hat, and she completed the movie in the way she wished.
After Kangana started directing the movie, Sonu Sood requested her to send the rushes of the completed portions. When she sent the videos, Sonu was shocked to see major portions of his scenes chopped off.
“I asked her to send across rushes from the film and I saw that 80% of my scenes were chopped off and the scenes that I was narrated were not there. I spoke to Kangana again and she confessed as a friend that she wanted this to be shot in a certain way. So I told her that she is a great friend of mine but I’m not comfortable in shooting what she is asking me to do, I said an okay to the previous script and director but I would like to walk out of this project and I won’t even speak about it,” said Sonu Sood, in a recent interview with Barkha Dutt’s Mojo Story.
Sonu Sood also shared his disappointment working in Manikarnika, as he spent four months for that movie, and turned down many acting offers.
Earlier, Kangana Ranaut had revealed that Sonu Sood did not want to work under a female director, and that was the reason why he left the movie midway. However, Sonu dismissed these claims and made it clear that he has worked with Farah Khan in Happy New Year. According to the ‘Arundathi’ actor, he did not wish to work with two directors in one movie, and that is why he decided to leave Manikarnika.
