Shri Rajput Karni Sena sends legal notice to makers of Laxxmi Bomb, demands title change

NIRMAL YESODA

Just days before the release of Akshay Kumar’s Laxxmi Bomb, Shri Rajput Karni Sena has sent a legal notice to the makers demanding a title change. According to a report on Zoom TV, the legal notice was sent by advocate Raghavendra Mehrotra, on behalf of Shri Rajput Karni Sena.

The legal notice alleges that the title of Laxxmi Bomb is insulting Goddess Lakshmi. The notice further claimed that the title of the movie was finalized intentionally to lower the dignity of the people towards the goddess. The advocate added that the title ‘Laxxmi Bomb’ is sending a wrong message to society, as it is putting the Hindu ideologies and customs in a bad light.

Laxxmi Bomb is the remake of Tamil blockbuster Kanchana. The film is directed by Raghava Lawrence, and it is basically a horror-comedy flick. Laxxmi Bomb will feature Akshay Kumar in double roles, and it includes the character of a transgender.

Apart from Akshay Kumar, Laxxmi Bomb also stars Kiara Advani, Ayesha Raza Mishra, Tusshar Kapoor, Sharad Kelkar, and Tarun Arora in other prominent roles.

The makers had initially planned a grand theatrical release for Laxxmi Bomb. However, due to the coronavirus outbreak, they decided to release the movie on Disney+Hotstar on November 9.
