Several networks cut away from Trump’s White House address

It seems like US President Donald Trump cannot accept the reality that he might lose his position in the White House soon. Many TV networks, broadcast networks, and Twitter had to cut short their broadcasts of President Donald Trump’s speech from the White House when he started to make an unfounded accusation that the presidential election was being stolen from him.

Trump began his remark by baselessly claiming that Democrats were committing fraud and trying to steal the election.

At the address, the President once again claimed that if “legal” votes are counted he would win the presidential election.

Trump has repeatedly claimed victory and appealed for vote-counting to be stopped in the states that yet to give the final results even after two days since Election Day.

This was Donald Trump’s first public appearance since election night as vote-counting was still on at several battleground states such as Georgia and Nevada.

Late vote-counting in battleground states showed Democrat Joe Biden steadily closing in on victory. Joe Biden has already secured 264 electoral votes, just six votes short for the required.

Even though Joe Biden is pushing closer to magic number, one has to wait for sometime to know the clear winner of the closely fought election between Republic’s Donald Trump and his Democratic rival. The final count depends on a few states on where a flood of mail-in ballots triggered by the coronavirus pandemic are still being counted.

Meanwhile, US courts have dismissed Trump campaign’s lawsuits in Michigan and Georgia related to alleged electoral malpractice.

2020 US Presidential election garnered highest voter turnout rate in 120 years.
