Kochi : In the wake of the India-Pakistan conflict, three-tier security checks have been introduced for passengers at airports in the country. The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has issued instructions in this regard. Body searches and ID checks will be tightened.
In addition to the existing security checks at the time of entry and after entering the airport, a ‘Secondary Ladder Point Check (SLPC)’ has also been introduced. This type of check has been started at all airports in Kerala.
According to this, a security check will be conducted once again near the boarding gate. Passengers, including their cabin bags, will be thoroughly checked using a hand-held metal detector. Only after this will they be allowed to board the aircraft.
100% CCTV coverage will be ensured at all airports. Inspections should be carried out on aircraft and catering systems.
