Saudi Arabia to allow only limited people for Haj

Web Desk

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has decided that Haj for 2020 will be held with a very limited number of pilgrims. Those who already reside in Saudi Arabia would be allowed to perform it. This decision was taken to ensure that Haj is performed observing preventative measures and the necessary social distancing protocols to protect human beings from the risks associated with this pandemic and in accordance with the teachings of Islam in preserving the lives of human beings.
In a statement issued by Saudi Press Agency, the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud said that it is honoured to serve millions of Haj and Umrah pilgrims annually and it confirms that this decision stems from the top priority it accords maintaining the safety of pilgrims on its land until they depart to their home countries.
The annual Hajj pilgrimage will begin in late July this year.
