Run sets new record in Hulu, emerges as the best opener

Indian origin filmmaker Aneesh Chaganty’s new movie Run has set a new record in streaming platform Hulu. The film which features Sarah Paulson in the lead role has become Hulu’s most-watched feature title ever during its opening weekend.

It should be noted that Run not only beat all previous HULU releases but also overpowered all licensed SVOD film titles. Until now, Palm Springs was the most-watched Hulu film in the opening weekend, and now the Aneesh Chaganty directorial has shattered its record.

However, the OTT platform has not revealed the exact number of viewers who streamed the movie this weekend.

Run narrates the story of a teenager who discovers her mother’s sinister secrets. The film upon its release on November 20 has been receiving unanimously positive reviews from all corners, and it currently holds a 93% certified fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Aneesh Chaganty made his directorial debut with the much-acclaimed movie Searching, which had its release in 2018. The mystery thriller movie narrated a story purely based on a computer screen, and it offered a whole new experience to viewers.
