RTA Extends Metro Service Hours for Weekend Due to Post-Holiday Rush

Due to the rush of people returning after summer holidays, the Dubai Road Transport Authority (RTA) has extended metro service hours for Saturday and Sunday. The service time has been extended at Central Point and JGCO stations.

On Saturday, August 24, the metro will operate until 5 AM, and on Sunday, August 25, it will run until 8 AM. This extension is aimed at managing the increased passenger traffic during this busy period as travelers return to Dubai.

In the next 13 days, around 3.5 million passengers are expected to pass through Dubai International Airport. Specifically, on August 31 and September 1, an estimated 500,000 passengers are anticipated, with September 1 being the busiest day, expecting around 291,000 passengers.

So far this year, the airport has handled 44.9 million passengers within the first four months, reflecting a significant increase in traffic.
