Rotary International donates PPE kits to Kerala Police

Rotary International will donate 5,000 Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) kits to Kerala Police personnel who are involved in the fight against COVID-19 in the State.
The kits which will include face shield will be distributed in the various districts of the State. State Police Chief and & Director General of Police Loknath Behra IPS received 600 kits from the office-bearers of Rotary International as part of a project.
The Police Chief suggested that in the first phase of the project, which has been named ROPE (Rotary Police Engagement), these kit should be distributed among the police officials in Ponnani Taluk, which is under triple lockdown. In this context Mr. Behra recalled that members of Rotary International had brought food and water to policemen engaged in vehicle inspection as part of the lockdown earlier.
PPE kits worth Rs.25 lakhs would be donated to Kerala Police as part of the project, chief coordinator of the project Suresh Mathew and general coordinator Jigdeesh Narayanan informed at the meeting.
