Residents arriving in Oman can stay in domestic quarantine provided they have proper facilities and follow precautionary measures set by the Ministry of Health, according to reports

The Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA), Oman had issued a circular on July 23 to all aircraft operators setting a mandatory 14-day institutional quarantine for foreign travellers arriving in Oman. According to the circular, foreign travellers must also present the confirmation of accommodation and means to cover the expenses. However, speaking to TAS, a senior official at PACA said: “If they (residents) are having proper quarantine facilities at home, they can stay at domestic quarantine,” the official said.

According to the official, the residents must follow strict quarantine procedures. “They must isolate in a separate room that has an attached bathroom, they should strictly stay in the room for the entire quarantine period, they must not mix with family members in the house, they must ensure to follow proper health and safety procedures set by MOH,” he said.

Expat residents before arriving at the airport are required to download and start the registration process on the Tarassud+ application as well as pay an amount of five Omani Riyals to obtain a tracking bracelet to wear during the quarantine period. “This tracking bracelet must be worn during the entire quarantine period and must not be removed,” he added.

Residents who are stranded abroad can return to Oman provided they receive the travel permit from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
