RAK airport to open on October 15

The emirate of Ras Al Khaimah’s Department of Civil Aviation has announced that expatriate residents will be allowed to enter the country through Ras Al Khaimah International Airport from October 15, without obtaining prior permission from authorities.

The UAE’s procedures and requirements for travel will be applicable for entry, which include medical testing and obtaining a negative COVID-19 result within 96 hours before departure.

According to WAM, tourists from all countries can also enter the UAE through the RAK airport provided on condition that they fulfil all requirements, such as reserving travel tickets and obtaining tourist medical insurance. Tourists are required to undergo a PCR test four days before coming to the country, as well as fill in a medical disclosure form for submission to relevant authorities. The quarantine procedures for tourists whose medical results are positive will be in line with the procedures adopted by the Ministry of Health and Prevention.

Emirati citizens and residents will be allowed to travel to any country according to the planned scheduled flights through the airport following relevant procedures of individual countries.

So far, only repatriation flights have been operating from the airport; it has helped secure the return of more than 53,000 Indian citizens to various destinations in India since the beginning of June.
