Qatar Declares Five-Day Eid Al Adha Holiday Starting June 5, 2025

Qatar : Qatar has officially announced a five-day public holiday for Eid Al Adha 2025, commencing on the 9th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, which corresponds to Thursday, June 5, based on astronomical calculations. The holiday will extend through the 13th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, concluding on Monday, June 9. This decision was ratified by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and published in the country’s Official Gazette.
The directive applies to all ministries, government agencies, and public institutions across Qatar. Additionally, the decree stipulates that if a single working day falls between two official holidays, it will also be considered a holiday. Weekends overlapping with official holidays are included in the time off as well.
The Official Gazette also outlines other public holidays for the year:

Eid Al Fitr: From the 28th day of Ramadan until the end of the 4th day of Shawwal.

Qatar National Day: Celebrated annually on December 18.

These provisions aim to provide clarity and consistency in the nation’s public holiday schedule, facilitating better planning for both public institutions and citizens
