Private hospitals in Kerala promises all support in COVID fight

Managements of private hospitals have expressed its full support to the activities of the Department of Health for the prevention of COVID-19. All support for Covid treatment and non-Covid treatment has been reported

They have also informed that hospital services, including lab and ventilator, are ready to provide emergency services. They expressed their support at the video conferencing of private hospitals in the state led by Health Minister K.K. Shailaja.

The minister said the role of private hospitals is huge when there is much work to be done to fight COVID. Earlier, the chief minister had held discussions with private hospitals. This was in continuation of the discussion. The treatment for COVID and other seasonal epidemics have to go hand-in-hand. Due to the rainy season, many communicable diseases are likely to occur, the minister said.Increasing number of Covid patients in major government hospitals will require the participation of private hospitals. Already, private hospitals have assured cooperation. It was also informed that Covid treatment could be set up in private hospitals in times of need. T

raining was also given to the employees of private hospitals. About 8 lakh health care workers were trained in the first phase and 5 lakh health workers were deployed in the second phase.

More preparations were needed as more and more people are coming from outside Kerala. There was a need to proceed according to single treatment guideline. The minister also requested the support of all hospitals in this mission.

The management of more than 100 hospitals across the state, including IMA, private medical colleges, hospitals and clinics participated in the discussion.
