PM Modi promises safe vaccine distribution across the country, asks CMs to increase COVID-19 testing

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday met the chief ministers where he discussed the present COVID-19 situation in the country. After the meet PM Modi said India is in a better situation while noting a spike in coronavirus cases in some parts.

“As a result of joint efforts, today India is in a better situation than other countries when it comes to recovery and fatality rates,” PM said.

PM also assured that vaccines will be delivered safely following all scientific standards. “Safety is as important as speed for us. Vaccine distribution strategy will be chalked out in collective coordination with states. States must also start working cold storage facilities.”

PM asked states to send detailed plans soon on how they plan to take the vaccines to all.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held virtual meetings with Chief Ministers to discuss the coronavirus situation in the states. At the meet, PM Modi asked the chief ministers to share feedback with him in writing on Covid-19 strategy. PM Modi also asked states to set up task force/steering committees at district or block level to prepare for Covid-19 vaccine programme.

One crore masks would be distributed in the state, said the Chief Minister announcing restrictions on gatherings in districts near Delhi, including Gurgaon and Faridabad.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, Rajasthan’s Ashok Gehlot, Chhattisgarh’s Bhupesh Baghel, Kerala’s Pinarayi Vijayan, and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Haryana’s Manohar Lal Khattar attended the meeting .
