Pinarayi Vijayan kicks off CPM 23rd Party Congress

Pinarayi Vijayan addressed the people gathered at the event. He spoke about the history of the party. The CM was spotted without a face mask in a public event for the first time in two years.

Kannur: The 23rd Party Congress of CPM started here on Tuesday as chief minister and party politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan hoisted the flag.

The flag was brought to the conference hall from Punnapra in Alappuzha and the flagpost from Kayyur in Kasaragod.

The conference is at EK Nayanar Academy. Senior PB member S Ramachandran Pillai will hoist the flag of the delegates’ conference. General secretary Sitaram Yechuri will inaugurate the conference.

Central Committee meeting held here earlier today elected a seven-member praesidium headed by former Tripura CM Manik Sarkar to control the conference.

The conference will end on April 10.
