Passengers from India barred from travelling to UAE

With effect from April 25, passengers from India are temporarily barred from travelling to the UAE. The travel ban comes into effect from 11.59pm on April 24, and is subject to review after 10 days. This follows the new wave of COVID-19 wreaking havoc in India.
Passengers arriving from India through other countries are not allowed to enter the UAE unless they were staying for 14 days in the country of transit.
But departure flights from the UAE to India will continue to operate as usual.
UAE nationals, diplomatic passport holders and official delegations are exempt from the new rules.
This has come shortly after the UAE updated RT-PCR test rules for Indian passengers to the Gulf country. Travellers from India to the UAE were asked take a PCR test no more than 96 hours prior to departure, Etihad airways had clarified. Passengers from India to Dubai were to get a PCR test done no more than 48 hours prior to travel from April 19.
At least eight countries around the world have announced travel bans and restrictions to prevent the deadly virus spreading in India.
