Parliament monsoon session likely to conclude on September 23

A united Opposition decided to boycott proceedings of the Rajya House till their three demand, invoking suspension of eight members are met , even as the government insisted on their apology. In Lok Sabha too, opposition parties, including the Congress and the Trinamool Congress (TMC), boycotted the proceedings in solidarity with the eight Rajya Sabha members who were suspended for unruly behaviour.

The Opposition parties are to meet President at 5pm over farm bills.

Amid these tensions, Rajya Sabha passed The Bilateral Netting of Qualified Finanacial Contracts Bill, 2020. Loksabha had passed the bill on September 20.
