A united Opposition decided to boycott proceedings of the Rajya House till their three demand, invoking suspension of eight members are met , even as the government insisted on their apology. In Lok Sabha too, opposition parties, including the Congress and the Trinamool Congress (TMC), boycotted the proceedings in solidarity with the eight Rajya Sabha members who were suspended for unruly behaviour.
