Muscat: In its latest annual performance update CPA revealed that they recovered over RO 3 million for consumers in 2024 and conducting more than 300,000 inspection visits—marking a significant 40% drop in violations compared to last year.
The CPA also revealed that a total of 1,301 court rulings were issued in favor of consumers this year, with financial fines amounting to nearly RO 600,000. These rulings represent a 5% increase compared to 2023, highlighting growing legal support for consumer rights.
Over 300,000 inspection visits were carried out nationwide, resulting in 5,479 recorded violations. The most notable declines in violations were seen in North Al Batinah with 1,796 cases, Muscat with 999, and Dhofar (Salalah) with 420.
