Muscat : The Shura Council of Oman welcomed a high-level Chinese delegation led by Xiao Jie, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) of China. The visit is part of ongoing efforts to enhance cooperation and strengthen joint action between the two friendly nations.
During the meeting, His Excellency Taher Mubkhoot Al-Junaibi, Deputy Chairman of the Shura Council, praised the robust bilateral relations between Oman and China. He emphasized the importance of expanding ties across various sectors, including investment, energy, trade, and cultural exchange. Al-Junaibi also highlighted the potential for enhanced collaboration in legislative affairs through mutual learning and dialogue between the two parliamentary institutions.
Xiao Jie expressed appreciation for the progress in Omani-Chinese relations and affirmed China’s commitment to expanding cooperation across strategic areas. He underscored the strides both countries have made in building a robust and multifaceted partnership.
The meeting also included discussions on regional and international developments of mutual interest, with both sides emphasizing the value of regular communication and exchange of views.
Attending the meeting from the Shura Council were Dr. Ahmed bin Ali Al Saadi, Ahmed bin Saeed Al Sharqi, Omar bin Ali Al Junaibi, and Mansour bin Khalifa Al Siyabi. Also present was Lyu Jian, Ambassador-designate of the People’s Republic of China to the Sultanate of Oman.
This visit reflects the commitment of both nations to deepen their strategic partnership and foster greater collaboration in various fields.
