Oman’s Health Ministry announces vaccination requirements for Hajj pilgrims

Muscat : This directive applies to those who have been selected for Hajj through the electronic sorting process conducted by the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs (MERA).
The Ministry of Health has mandated the following vaccinations for all Hajj pilgrims:

COVID-19 Monovalent Vaccine: A booster dose of the COVID-19 monovalent vaccine is required for individuals aged 65 and above, pregnant women, and those with chronic conditions such as respiratory diseases, diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease, and immunodeficiency.
Seasonal Influenza Vaccine: This vaccine is mandatory for all Hajj pilgrims, including adults and children aged 6 months and older.
Meningococcal Meningitis Vaccine: All Hajj pilgrims aged 2 months and older are required to receive this vaccine. A single dose provides protection for five years.
The Ministry of Health advises all pilgrims to receive the vaccinations at least ten days before their scheduled travel to ensure immunity and safeguard public health.
