Oman’s Environment Authority launches campaigns ahead of plastic bags ban

Muscat: The Environment Authority (EA) is running an awareness campaigns to prepare for the ban on plastic shopping bags, set to begin from January 2025.

These campaigns are focused on informing the public about the new rules and encouraging people to use reusable bags instead of plastic bags.
As part of the effort, the authority is giving away environmentally friendly bags to help people make the switch ahead of time. The goal of the ban is to reduce plastic waste and protect the environment.

The Environment Authority is calling on both residents and businesses to support this change and start using alternatives to plastic bags. By making this change, Oman hopes to reduce pollution and promote a cleaner, greener future.
