Oman’s Consumer Protection Authority Intensifies Market Monitoring Ahead of Eid Al-Adha

Muscat : As part of its ongoing efforts to safeguard consumer interests, Oman’s Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) conducted an intensive inspection of the Silal Market on June 3, 2025. This initiative forms a key component of the CPA’s broader campaign to oversee market activities and ensure commercial compliance across various sectors in the lead-up to Eid Al-Adha.

The inspection focused on evaluating the availability of essential goods, verifying fair pricing, and ensuring the quality of services provided by vendors. CPA officials carefully reviewed stock levels, examined pricing mechanisms, and assessed vendor adherence to consumer protection regulations.

One of the main objectives of the visit was to confirm that businesses are fully complying with laws designed to protect consumers, especially during the festive season when demand tends to surge.

The Authority underscored the importance of such field inspections in maintaining market stability and public confidence. It reaffirmed its commitment to continuing regular oversight to promote a transparent, fair, and reliable commercial environment during peak shopping periods like Eid Al-Adha.
