Oman’s Al Buraimi Municipal Council tackles key educational and development issues in its 10th meeting

MUSCAT : The session, chaired by His Excellency Dr. Hamad bin Ahmed Al Busaidi, Governor of Al Buraimi, saw the participation of all council members and key stakeholders.

The meeting featured the Director General of the Directorate General of Education, who engaged in discussions on strengthening school infrastructure and enhancing services for students to bolster the educational process. High on the agenda was the need to pave parking lots in front of government schools to reduce dust and dirt caused by vehicle movement, creating a healthier environment for students.

Another critical topic was the shortage of school buses. The council stressed the importance of increasing the fleet to alleviate congestion and address parental concerns, aiming to improve school transportation and ensure smoother operations.
Beyond education, the council reviewed ongoing infrastructure projects, including road paving initiatives, while exploring additional measures to enhance the governorate’s facilities. The meeting also included a presentation by the Department of Heritage and Tourism, proposing a heritage village project designed to boost cultural tourism in Al Buraimi.

The session concluded with a review of responses from various entities to previously raised issues. Council members emphasized the need for collaboration between governmental and private institutions to achieve comprehensive development and meet the expectations of the governorate’s residents.
