Muscat : The forum was aimed at developing commercial relations between the two countries. It discussed ways to consolidate economic and investment cooperation and open up new vistas for investment and partnership in various vital sectors. It also elaborated on enhancing commercial exchange and exploring promising investment opportunities, notably in the sectors of agriculture, tourism, trade, fisheries, livestock and construction.
The forum targeted investors, producers, exporters, importers, wholesale companies and government departments.
During the forum, Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov stressed that the Republic of Dagestan attaches great importance to strengthening cooperation with the Sultanate of Oman in various fields and such forums represent milestones in developing future partnerships between the two sides.
Speaking on the occasion, OCCI Chairman His Excellency Faisal Abdullah Al Rowas, said that the Omani-Russian Forum embodies the Chamber’s vision for upgrading cooperation between Oman and Dagestan as part of the OCCI’s strategy to develop commercial and economic ties with different countries of the world.
He pointed out that the forum constitutes a starting point for further fruitful cooperation, motivates businesses and companies and enhances the Chamber’s role in supporting entrepreneurship and achieving national economic goals.
The forum also witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Dagestan. The MoU seeks to expand cooperation between the two parties in several vital economic sectors.
The forum also featured a visual presentation titled ‘Explore the Omani Market’, which was presented by Shurooq Hamad Al Farsi, Head of the Committees Department at the OCCI. Shurooq spoke about the investment opportunities available in the Sultanate of Oman, as well as the current economic trends in action.
The Dagestani side presented a promotional video featuring investment opportunities in Dagestan, the region’s competitive advantages and its economic and commercial importance as a promising investment hub.
The forum concluded with bilateral meetings between business owners from both Oman and Russia. The meetings explored avenues for future cooperation and exchanged views about trade and investment opportunities that could benefit all participating parties.
