Omani Crafts Exhibition ‘Authenticity and Modernity’ opens in Muscat

MUSCAT : The exhibition, running until February 22, showcases the rich heritage of Omani crafts while highlighting contemporary applications and innovations.

Under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Rashid bin Ahmed Al Shamsi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development, the inauguration ceremony was attended by a host of dignitaries and officials from various government sectors, marking the beginning of a celebration of Omani craftsmanship.

The exhibition is designed to both showcase and promote Omani crafts, highlighting their cultural, economic, and social significance. It aims to introduce the elements and vocabulary of the craft heritage, create a platform for marketing craft products, and highlight innovative ideas in employing these products to enrich different aspects of life.

The exhibition is divided into two main pavilions – Authenticity and Contemporary – each offering a unique perspective on Omani crafts.

The exhibition serves as a vital platform for both seasoned artisans and emerging talent to display their work, connect with potential customers, and collaborate with industry stakeholders.
