Oman Post and Iranian National Post Unveil Joint Commemorative Stamp Honoring Bilateral Ties

Muscat : In a symbolic celebration of the enduring relationship between the Sultanate of Oman and the Islamic Republic of Iran, Oman Post, a member of the Asyad Group, and the Iranian National Post have jointly launched a commemorative postage stamp. The unveiling took place during the official visit of His Excellency Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, President of Iran, at Al Alam Palace in Muscat.

The stamp marks a significant milestone in the cultural and historical ties between the two nations and highlights their shared commitment to fostering strong neighborly relations, meaningful cooperation, and vibrant cultural dialogue.

The intricately designed stamp artfully blends iconic symbols and architectural landmarks from both countries:

  • On one side stands the majestic Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in Muscat, a symbol of Omani Islamic heritage, framed by palm trees that signify resilience and the nation’s deep-rooted agricultural traditions.
  • On the other side is the historic Bastak Grand Mosque of southern Iran, set amidst Cypress trees, long associated with Persian ideals of strength and continuity.

At the center of the design lies a handwoven Persian carpet, inspired by the renowned masterpiece displayed inside the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. Originating from Iran’s Khorasan province, this carpet—adorned with intricate floral patterns—stands as a symbol of artistic excellence and cultural exchange.

Above the scene shines a radiant sun, representing renewal and the shared aspirations of both countries for a prosperous, peaceful future. A carrier pigeon in flight adds a timeless message of peace, communication, and enduring friendship.

This collaborative initiative underscores the ongoing commitment of Oman Post and the Iranian National Post to deepening postal and cultural cooperation. It also reflects their joint efforts to expand partnerships and deliver mutual benefits to the peoples of Oman and Iran.

The commemorative stamp not only celebrates a diplomatic occasion but also serves as a lasting tribute to the close, evolving relationship between the two neighboring nations.
