Oman Issues Key Advisory for Maritime Shipping Companies

Muscat: The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology has issued an important advisory to companies operating in the maritime shipping sector in Oman. The directive primarily targets businesses involved in cargo agency services and maritime shipping and unloading brokerage.

The Ministry has urged all stakeholders to strictly comply with the provisions of the Maritime Law No. 19/2023, emphasizing the need for lawful and regulated practices in the sector.

In addition, the Ministry advised all individuals and entities seeking maritime shipping services to engage only with companies officially licensed by the Ministry. A directory of these authorized companies is available and will be continuously updated through the electronic ticker accompanying this announcement.

The Ministry expressed its appreciation for the cooperation of all stakeholders and service users, underscoring that these measures aim to enhance the quality, safety, and reliability of maritime transport services in the Sultanate.
