Muscat : The meeting between Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Abbas Araghchi and Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, marks the beginning of preliminary consultations aimed at preparing the ground for renewed dialogue between Tehran and Washington.
Later this evening, Sayyid Badr Albusaidi is scheduled to meet with U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, to continue consultations on the same agenda. These back-to-back meetings are seen as a critical step toward restarting indirect negotiations between the two countries, amid ongoing efforts to ease regional tensions and revive diplomatic engagement.
Oman has historically played a key role in facilitating communication between Iran and the United States, particularly during past rounds of nuclear and regional security talks.
