Oman establishes Center for Zero Neutrality to achieve 2050 climate goals

Muscat: The Ministry of Energy and Minerals has issued a ministerial decree to create the Oman Center for Zero Neutrality. The center will play a pivotal role in advancing the Sultanate’s efforts to address climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, supporting its vision to reach net-zero emissions by 2050.

The center will focus on coordinating national strategies, promoting sustainable energy solutions, and facilitating collaboration between public and private sectors. By centralising these efforts, Oman aims to position itself as a regional leader in sustainability and environmental responsibility.

This decision aligns with Oman’s broader objectives in its national climate action plans, reinforcing its dedication to meeting international environmental commitments.
