Oman attends 44th session of Arab Social Affairs Ministers Council

Muscat: Represented by the Ministry of Social Development, the Sultanate of Oman today took part in the 44th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs. The session was hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain today.

Oman’s delegation was represented by Sheikh Rashid Ahmed Al Shamsi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development.

The session discussed preparations for the Arab Summit, the 2nd World Summit for Social Development and the 3rd World Summit for Persons with Disabilities, scheduled to be held in 2025. The session touched on topics of relevance to the family, childhood, the elderly and social policies.
The session also reviewed the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and other unstable countries. It laid emphasis on the need to provide humanitarian assistance where necessary, address development challenges in the Arab region and consolidate joint social development action.
