Oman and Philippines Sign Landmark MoU to Strengthen Healthcare Cooperation

Geneva : In a significant step toward enhancing international healthcare collaboration, the Ministries of Health of the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of the Philippines signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today in Geneva. The agreement is aimed at fostering comprehensive cooperation in the health sector between the two nations.

The MoU was signed by His Excellency Dr. Hilal bin Ali Al-Sabti, Minister of Health of Oman, and His Excellency Dr. Teodoro Herbosa, Minister of Health of the Philippines, on the sidelines of global health discussions taking place in the Swiss city.

Key Areas of Collaboration

The agreement outlines a broad framework for mutual cooperation across the following key areas:

  • Exchange of Health Information & Best Practices
    Sharing insights into disease prevention, healthcare policy, and clinical protocols to enhance public health systems in both countries.
  • Collaboration on Health Technologies
    Promoting the use and development of advanced medical technologies, equipment, and digital health tools.
  • Strengthening Primary Healthcare Mechanisms
    Joint efforts to improve primary care models through training, systems development, and policy sharing.
  • Scientific Research and Knowledge Exchange
    Facilitating joint studies, medical research initiatives, and academic exchanges to improve healthcare outcomes.
  • Human Resource Development in Healthcare
    A major focus of the MoU is the development of healthcare professionals through training, capacity building, and shared learning programs.

Shared Vision for Better Healthcare

Speaking at the signing ceremony, both ministers emphasized the importance of international partnerships in building resilient and inclusive healthcare systems. The collaboration aims to create opportunities for mutual learning and sustainable development in the health sectors of both countries.

This MoU is expected to serve as a catalyst for deeper institutional ties and pave the way for future partnerships in specialized medical services, public health initiatives, and academic exchanges.
