Oman and Iraq Boost Judicial Ties Through Cooperation and Knowledge Exchange

Muscat : Oman and Iraq have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties in the judicial field through enhanced cooperation and knowledge exchange. The Iraqi judicial delegation is currently on an official visit to the Sultanate of Oman, aimed at fostering deeper collaboration between the judicial institutions of both nations.

The discussions focused on broadening judicial cooperation, particularly in the areas of experience sharing, joint training initiatives, and the implementation of technical programs to elevate the performance and efficiency of the justice systems in both countries.

Key topics included the modernization of court procedures, the development of legal training frameworks, enhancement of judicial service quality, and strategies to expedite litigation processes. Both sides emphasized the importance of streamlining judicial procedures to improve accessibility and service delivery.

The Iraqi delegation received a comprehensive briefing on Oman’s experience in judicial reform, with a particular focus on digital transformation. They reviewed the integration of technology in court operations and how these innovations have improved the overall experience for litigants.

H.E. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice and Legal Affairs, highlighted the significance of the visit, stating that it marks a pivotal step toward deepening judicial ties between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Iraq. He underscored that the exchange of expertise and knowledge serves as a cornerstone for enhancing judicial systems and building long-term strategic partnerships.

The visit reflects a shared vision to promote effective justice delivery, uphold the rule of law, and foster mutual development in the legal sector.
