Oman Airports Report Growth in Passenger and Aircraft Traffic in May 2025

Muscat: Oman’s aviation sector continues its upward trajectory, with airports across the country recording a notable increase in passenger and aircraft traffic during May 2025. According to figures released by Oman Airports, Muscat International Airport saw a 2% rise in passenger numbers compared to the same period in 2024.

Salalah Airport, meanwhile, posted an impressive 6.2% growth in passenger traffic, driven largely by growing tourist interest in the Dhofar Governorate ahead of the khareef (monsoon) season.

Aircraft movements across Oman’s airports also rose by 3%, underscoring increased demand for air travel and the nation’s ongoing efforts to enhance air connectivity.

In a statement highlighting the positive trend, Oman Airports noted, “We are steadily advancing toward elevating the passenger experience, expanding our flight network, and reinforcing the Sultanate of Oman’s position as a key regional aviation hub.”
