Ras Al Khaimah: The Vehicle and Driver Licensing Department of Ras Al Khaimah Police has announced an update to the traffic file opening process for those wishing to obtain a driving licence. They can now get it in just half the time.
Colonel Saqr bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director of the Vehicle and Driver Licensing Department, stated that this update aims to offer the best services to the public wishing to apply for a driving licence for various vehicle categories.
The process begins with the applicant visiting one of the 31 accredited vision testing centres across the emirate for the necessary eye test, after which they can open a traffic file through the Ministry of Interior’s MOI app.
He added that the applicant then proceeds to the Ras Al Khaimah Public Resources Authority for theory training, followed by a theory test, before moving on to practical training sessions, both indoor and outdoor, as well as driving training on highways.
Subsequently, the applicant undergoes an evaluation and a certificate is issued if successful. The next stage involves the applicant attending the Vehicle and Driver Licensing Department to take the internal and external practical driving tests. Upon successfully passing these, the applicant will be issued a driving licence.
Colonel Al Qasimi explained that the update to the traffic file opening service is part of the ongoing efforts by the General Command of Ras Al Khaimah Police to expedite their services.
