New safe transport service ‘Uber School’ launched for Dubai students

Dubai: As the school year is swing, Uber has teamed up with Dubai’s Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) to introduce Uber School, an innovative, affordable transportation solution designed for students and their families.

Offering safety, convenience, and cost savings, this new service is set to transform the way students commute to school and extra-curricular activities.

Who can use

Uber School is designed for students aged 8 and above, allowing parents to easily manage their kids’ daily commutes with peace of mind.

Integrated into the Uber Teens accounts, this service offers enhanced safety features like real-time tracking, driver verification, and PIN authentication.

Additionally, families can take advantage of a special offer — saving up to 35% on rides when booking 10 or more trips in a week.

How it works

To start using Uber School, parents simply need to set up a Teen account via the Uber app. After completing a safety onboarding, students can begin requesting rides. By filling out a quick form, parents can then activate the Uber School service and begin enjoying discounts on daily trips.

Key features

Real-Time Trip Tracking: Parents can monitor rides in real-time, receiving live updates.

Enhanced Safety: Real-time tracking, driver details, and audio recording ensure peace of mind.

Savings for Families: Save up to 35% with a weekly trip package of 10 or more rides.

Vital addition

Adel Shakeri, Director of Planning and Business Development at RTA, said: “Uber School is a vital addition to the school transport sector in Dubai, providing a trusted, safe, and flexible option for families. We are committed to improving school transportation, and this partnership will be key to enhancing both safety and convenience for students.”

Carine Arif, Head of Communications, MENA at Uber, said: “Uber School is built with students in mind, offering an affordable and safe solution to make daily commutes easier for both parents and kids. We’re excited to leverage our existing Teens product to offer even more reliable service for families.”

Arif added that Uber School aims to reduce the stress of school commutes for families, offering a reliable and efficient transport option that helps families manage their busy schedules while ensuring the safety and well-being of their children.
