Muscat Nights Festival invites innovators to Madar Hackathon 2025

MUSCAT : As part of the Muscat Nights Festival, this hackathon invites creative minds, designers, strategists, and innovators to reimagine the future of this iconic cultural event. Participants will have the opportunity to shape a bold new identity for Muscat Nights—one that honours Oman’s rich cultural heritage while embracing modern trends and global appeal.

For decades, Muscat Nights has been a cultural landmark, showcasing the country’s vibrant traditions, culinary delights, and artistic heritage. However, in response to declining engagement, the hackathon seeks fresh ideas to breathe new life into the event, attracting both local and international audiences.
The Madar Hackathon 2025 aims to revitalize Muscat Nights with modern and exciting experiences; make the event inclusive for all—both Omanis and non-Omanis; foster innovative solutions for rebranding, activity planning, and promotion; encourage collaboration between participants and Muscat Municipality; and enhance the event’s cultural impact and efficiency.

Hackathon Themes

The hackathon will focus on two key themes:

Redefining the Identity of Muscat Nights – Developing a refreshed brand identity that resonates locally and globally.
Enhancing Activities and Themes of Muscat Nights – Crafting creative themes and immersive experiences that integrate modern trends while preserving the event’s cultural essence.
Teams of up to five members will collaborate to devise innovative solutions, including branding strategies, activity planning, and digital experiences. The hackathon is open to a diverse range of participants, including Omanis and expatriates; university students in design, marketing, tourism, and cultural studies; entrepreneurs, startup teams, and creative professionals; and developers and tech enthusiasts interested in digital innovation.
