Muscat: A regional workshop focused on e-commerce and digital economy statistics began in Muscat, bringing together key stakeholders from across the Gulf region.
Organized by the Statistical Centre for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC-Stat), the two-day event gathers participants from the GCC General Secretariat, national statistical offices, ministries of commerce, central banks, and other relevant government entities from member states.
The workshop is aimed at enhancing national capabilities in collecting, analyzing, and utilizing data related to the digital economy and e-commerce. It also seeks to promote evidence-based economic policymaking and advance statistical harmonization and integration among GCC countries.
Through collaborative sessions and knowledge sharing, the workshop supports regional efforts to improve data infrastructure in line with global trends in digital transformation and economic modernization.
