Mumbai court orders probe into Javed Akthar’s defamation case against Kangana Ranaut

The Mumbai court has ordered Juhu police to investigate the defamation case filed by Javed Akhtar against Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut. The court has asked the police to submit the report on January 16, 2021.

Poet and lyricistJaved Akhtar was himself present in the Andheri magistrate court where he filed the defamation against Kangana Ranaut.

The lyricist had approached the magistrate court last month with a complaint of defamation against Kangana for her alleged personal personal comments made during an interview. Earlier this month, on December 3, Javed Akthar’s statement was recorded by the magistrate.

Advocate Niranjan Mundargi, who represented Javed Akhtar in the court, submitted Kangana Ranaut’s interview in a pen drive. He also pointed out the objectionable portions of the interview. The advocate also explained how badly the interview tarnished Javed Akhtar’s image and showed reactions on social media to prove the same.

In the said interview, Kangana Ranaut had mentioned that a doctor was present throughout her conversation with Javed Akhtar. The doctor is a witness to the whole conversation between Kangana Ranaut and Javed Akhtar.

The police can now question the doctor about whom Kangana mentioned in the interview. In the end, the court passed a short order asking the Juhu police to investigate the matter thoroughly and also question the concerned doctor in the matter who is a witness in the case.

The next hearing in the matter will be on January 16, 2021.
