Malayalee Mumbai businessman and social activist Upendra Menon has been awarded Honorary Doctorate by Global Human Peace University (GHPU) in recognition of his social service activities.
Mumbai: Mumbai malayalee businessman and social activist Upendra Menon has been awarded honorary doctorate by the Global Human Peace University (GHPU in recognition of his social service activities. He was conferred with the award at a graduation ceremony held at Kalairangam Hall, Pondicherry. Peace University Chancellor, Dr P Manuel, Pondicherry Speaker Embalam R Selvam, Judge K Venkatesan and K Sampathkumar IAS presented the award to him.
Upendra Menon, who has been active in social services for more than half a century, has proved his excellence in fields like industrial, marine, oil and engineering sectors Menon is the recipient of many awards and honours like Special Executive Officer Maharashtra (1996), Prize of India Constitution House Delhi, Award for the Best Social Activist instituted by Kashmir to Kerala Foundation, Mumbai Lifestyle Icon 2021 instituted by leading Marathi newspaper Loksatta etc.
Menon is a member of the Central Committee of Giants Welfare Foundation, a leading social organization in India and the National Advisor of All India Malayalee Association (AIMA), a leading Malayalee body active across the country.
