Modern College of Business and Science kicks off ICSPBT’2024 with a focus on Sustainable Practices in Business and Technology

Muscat : Under the patronage of H.H. Sayyed Dr. Adham bin Turki Al Said, Modern College of Business and Science (MCBS), in collaboration with the EuroMid Academy of Business and Technology, Turkey, proudly opened the International Conference on Sustainable Practices in Business and Technology (ICSPBT’2024) today. The conference, being held at MCBS in Muscat, Oman, is set to run through December 12, 2024, and brings together global experts, scholars, and industry leaders to explore the latest advancements in sustainability, innovation, and technological practices within the business sector.

“The International Conference on Sustainable Practices in Business and Technology, offers a unique platform to shape the future of sustainable growth. Through collaboration and innovative thinking, we have the opportunity to turn today’s challenges into tomorrow’s solutions, ensuring that progress aligns with the preservation of our planet,” said Dr. Moosa Al Kindi, Dean of MCBS.
The opening ceremony marked the beginning of a dynamic two-day gathering, which aims to encourage dialogue, share innovative ideas, and drive discussions on sustainable business practices. The conference offers a valuable opportunity for distinguished academicians, scholars, and researchers to engage in collaborative exchanges, offering fresh perspectives on how sustainability can be integrated into business models and technological advancements.
Reflecting the international scope of the event, over 300 papers were submitted from across the globe, with participants representing a diverse range of countries, including Oman, India, Indonesia, the United States, Egypt, Nigeria, and Malaysia, among others. These papers focus on tackling the challenges and opportunities presented by economic transformation, technological innovation, and sustainability. The goal of ICSPBT’2024 is to generate innovative solutions that can support equitable economic growth while ensuring the preservation of our planet’s resources.

The conference’s objectives include promoting dialogue on economic sustainability and creating strategies for sustainable growth, exploring solutions to overcome emerging digital challenges in the fields of sustainability, entrepreneurship, and education, cultivating a research-oriented culture among Oman’s academic community through engagement with international researchers, and analyzing the latest trends in sustainable business practices and technological advancements, and evaluating their impact on both local and global economies.

Students from MCBS are also showcasing their startups and innovative projects during the conference, underlining the college’s commitment to empowering future entrepreneurs and fostering innovation within the academic community. “We are proud to witness our students presenting their innovative ideas alongside esteemed researchers and industry leaders,” added Dr. Hothefa Al-Obidy, Associate Dean for Research. “This is the perfect example of how we can blend academic knowledge with real-world applications to create sustainable and impactful solutions.”

H.H. Sayyed Dr. Adham bin Turki Al Said, Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker, shared his thoughts on the importance of sustainable growth in Oman and globally; “the future of economic growth lies in integrating sustainability into our development plans. It is critical that we work together, across sectors, to create strategies that balance progress with the preservation of our planet’s resources. This conference is an essential step towards that future.”

Eng. Said Salim Al-Shanfari, Keynote Speaker, emphasized the need for collaboration to drive sustainable economic growth. “Oman has great potential to become a leader in sustainable business practices. As we continue to innovate in the tourism and business sectors, it is imperative that we integrate sustainability into every aspect of our development. This conference is a powerful example of how collaboration can lead to practical solutions for a sustainable future.”
